Welcome to
Supervision Workshops
for Psychologists in NSW |
This is the
only site approved by the NSW Psychologists Registration
Board for the purpose of providing supervision workshops for
Psychologists in NSW who wish to gain Board authorisation as
a supervisor of Psychology Interns.
In 2006 and
2007 the Board provided many one day (for experienced
supervisors) and two day supervision workshops across NSW.
Around 1350 psychologists attended these workshops and
gained authorisation to practice as supervisors. From 2008
the Board is no longer subsidising the cost of workshop
attendance and is no longer providing the option of a one
day workshop for experienced supervisors.
The Board's Supervision Guidelines (www.psychreg.health.nsw.gov.au)
specify the following requirements for eligibility to gain
authorisation as a supervisor:2.1
ELIGIBILITY
The Board may
grant an authorisation to practise as a supervisor to a
psychologist:
- Whose registration is in
good standing
And
- Has been fully
registered as a psychologist for a minimum of 3 years
And
- Has participated in a
Board approved 2 day Supervision Workshop and achieved a
satisfactory standard on the Supervision Knowledge Test.

Two different
workshops are available:
-
A two
day supervision workshop that meets the Board’s
requirements for authorisation as a supervisor.
This workshop is an update of the one that the Board has
provided during 2006/2007. The
workshop includes the Supervision Knowledge Test.
Psychologists in good standing who have been fully
registered for a minimum of 3 years will be eligible for
Board authorisation as a supervisor when they attend
this two day workshop and gain a satisfactory standard
on the Supervision Knowledge Test.
Day 1: 9.00 am
to 5.00 pm. Day 2: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. Cost $360
(gst incl).

A one
day follow-up supervision workshop for psychologists
who have previously attended the Board’s two day
workshop and would like the opportunity to address
issues that have arisen in applying the learning from
the two day workshop and to extend their supervision
skills. This is an optional workshop; attendance is not
required by the Board for authorisation as a
supervisor. Attendance at this workshop will not
be recognised by the Board as an alternative to
attending the two day Supervision workshop.
9.00 to 4.45 pm. Cost $200 (gst incl).
